Abstract

This study aims to trace the way Al-Wahrani employs poetry in his prose writings, through Al-Wahrani's Manamat al-Wahrani, his Maqamat and his letters, in order to reveal the ways in which Al-Wahrani employs poetry, identify the purposes and reasons for this employment, and trace the mechanisms he used in this regard. The research attempted to answer the following questions: What is the method of Al-Wahrani's employment of poetry? What are the purposes of Al-Wahrani's employment of poetry?
The research followed a descriptive and analytical approach. As for the structure of the study, it consists of an introduction and a preface, which includes a definition of al-Wahrani and his literary output, and three main research questions: Methods of employing poetry in Al-Wahrani's dreams, maqamat, and letters. The purposes of employing poetry in Al-Wahrani's dreams, poems, and letters. The mechanics of employing poetry in Al-Wahrani's dreams, poems, and letters. Among the most notable findings of the research: Al-Wahrani adapted poetry in his prose to suit his literary and narrative purposes.
