The Approach of the Holy Quran in Protecting Society from Intellectual Extremism, an Objective Interpretive Study

Abstract

There is no doubt that intellectual security is the nerve of the nation, the source of its strength, and its impregnable wall against any breach of its security and stability. No nation can flourish while it is intellectually penetrated from within. The world has become teeming with extremist intellectual trends, whether excessively or negligently; and intellectual extremism in relation to religion is not limited to extremism and excess in what is permissible by Sharia, but also means negligence and escaping from the controls and rules of Sharia, and both sides of the intention of matters are reprehensible; Therefore, it has become necessary to explain the Qur’anic approach to protecting society from intellectual extremism, so that our sons and daughters are not deceived by the slogans of these extremist movements, and so that we protect our society from these malicious attacks. The nature of the research required that it be divided into an introduction, two sections, and a conclusion. The first section: On the meaning of protecting society from intellectual extremism. The second: On the aspects of the Qur’anic approach to protecting society from intellectual extremism, which was represented in ten aspects: The obligation to adhere to the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, establishing the principle of moderation of thought, relying on scholars of religion as a reference for fatwas, educating and refining the mind and strengthening its role, prohibiting delving into religion without knowledge,
