University education and its relationship to achieving sustainable development in Jordanian society and proposals for development

Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the role of university education in achieving sustainable development in Jordanian society from the point of view of academic leaders. The study population consisted of academic leaders in governmental and private universities in the Northern Region (Yarmouk University, University of Science and Technology, Irbid National University, Jerash National University), where the study population reached (1944) and the study sample reached (193) academic leaders. In order to answer the questions of the first and second studies, the researcher developed a questionnaire on a five-graded scale, and it consisted of four domains that included forty items, revealing the role of university education in achieving sustainable development in Jordanian society from the point of view of academic leaders.
