Divorce is originally by word, but the letter or writing may replace the word in the rhythm of divorce. It is permissible to divorce by means of modern means, whether telephone or written , if the methods of proof are available and it is better in such matters to resort to a definite way in the rhythm of divorce so that it can be proved by the witnesses.
