Abstract

This study deals the lightened' (an) in the hadiths of the six books, a grammatical study; with the aim of knowing the truth of the lightened' (an) and its issues through the texts of the hadiths of the six books.
The researcher followed the descriptive approach in his study, relying on analysis and statistics. Therefore, this research required that it include an introduction and a conclusion, in between which are three topics that follow as follows: The first topic - which is concerned with explaining the meaning of the lightened' (an), the second topic - which deals with the uses of the lightened' (an), then the third topic entitled “the lightened' (an) between neglect and application”.
Among the most important findings of the study are the following:
- The separation by the prohibitive "la" between the lightened' (an) and the present tense verb following it is not mentioned in the Holy Qur'an or in the speech of the Arabs that has come down to us, and grammarians have not discussed it. However, it is mentioned in the hadiths of the Six Books.
- The lightened' (an) is completely neglected, contrary to what grammarians and hadith commentators have stated, which is that the lightened' (an) functions provided that its subject is a deleted pronoun and its predicate is a sentence
