The Muslim family is the building block and nucleus of society. Therefore, the wise Shari'a has surrounded it with a wall of legislation to ensure its stability and protect it from anything that might taint its serenity. In our present age, with the proliferation of social media and its invasion of Muslim homes, this has led to many negative effects, along with its positive aspects. Among these negative effects are: causing discord between spouses, causing discord between them, and leading to the destruction of the family. Although discord between spouses existed in previous eras, it has become more prevalent due to the role social media plays in facilitating the formation of relationships between individuals and the ease with which words are exchanged, along with their repercussions. Islamic law has addressed discord in all its forms and means, closing the door to attempts to destroy families. The Noble Prophet made it clear that the one who seduces is cursed, and that seduction is forbidden. Some schools of jurisprudence forbade marriage between the seducer and the woman he seduced, and imposed punishment on anyone who corrupted a marital relationship. They also prohibited seclusion and relationships outside the framework of a marriage contract, preventing the means that lead to seduction. Islamic law preceded all positive laws in specifying the punishment for seduction, but this heinous crime still needs to be legislated in Egyptian law. Seduction has not yet been explicitly criminalized, despite proposals to amend the Personal Status Law to add provisions
