This dissertation examines the emergence and development of the Qur'anic recitation schools in Medina, the primary nucleus for teaching the Holy Qur'an, from the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), through the Companions and Successors, and continuing into later eras. The researcher focused on highlighting the efforts of the righteous predecessors in preserving and transmitting the Qur'an, documenting the history and scholarly impact of these schools, shedding light on their recitation methodology and the influence of Uthman's (may God be pleased with him) compilation of the Qur'an on their structure. The importance of the research stems from its connection to the noblest of sciences, the science of recitations, its contribution to enriching the Qur'anic library, and its introduction to researchers and scholars of the status of Medina in the transmission of the Holy Qur'an. The researcher followed inductive, historical, and analytical approaches, studying the efforts of the most prominent reciters in Medina, such as Ubayy ibn Ka'b and Zayd ibn Thabit. She also documented the stages of development of the schools and their educational and scholarly impact. The thesis concluded with the following key findings: The Prophet's school (peace and blessings be upon him) was the primary foundation for schools of recitation, the women of the Companions played a prominent role in education, and Uthman's collection influenced the unification of the recitations.
