Abstract

The research aims to translate one of the imams of interpretation during the era of the Successors, Yaman bin Riyab, may God have mercy on him, and to learn about his sayings, diligence, and deductions in interpretation, while highlighting the most important features and features of his approach to interpretation and the most prominent drawbacks against it. And comparing his sayings with other commentators, and the extent of their agreement with the sayings of the predecessors. The research method was the inductive and analytical method. Its most important results were that Yaman bin Riyab, one of the imams of the Followers, was a theorist, theologian, and book compiler, outside the sect. His doctrine did not affect his interpretation transmitted to us. He also had a lost wealth of interpretation, a few of which have reached us, scattered in some interpretations, so the number of his sayings attributed to him in printed interpretation books was sixty-nine sayings. Yaman interpreted the Qur’an based on the Qur’an, and relied on the sayings of the Arabs. He also presented the reasons for the revelation and the jurisprudential rulings. He had his own interpretations, deductions, and explanations for the words of the verses, and he had his preferences and choices from among the sayings.
