The necessity of the group and its impact on building societies: a cultural study

Abstract

This research deals with the impact of group commitment in building societies from an analytical cultural perspective, as it reviews the conceptual and legal foundations of group commitment, then sheds light on its role in building values and development through its association with Islamic culture and its impact on shaping values and morals. The research also discusses the intellectual and contemporary challenges facing group commitment, and proposes mechanisms to enhance it in contemporary reality, while reviewing the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this field. The following results were reached: 1. Group commitment is a legal principle established in the Qur’an, Sunnah, and the sayings of scholars, and it is one of the principles that preserve the unity of the nation and achieve its social stability. 2. There is a close connection between the concept of group commitment and the concepts of Islamic culture, as Islamic culture enhances the spirit of the group and directs it towards construction and development. 3. Group commitment has a pivotal role in shaping values and morals, as it contributes to consolidating the principles of justice, mercy, solidarity, and cooperation, which is positively reflected in the cohesion of societies. The most important recommendations were: 1. Strengthening the cultural and media discourse that supports the concept of group commitment, by spreading Islamic values that call for unity and cooperation and warning against excessive individualistic tendencies. 2. Integrating the values of group commitment into school curricula, so that the spirit of cooperation
