Abstract

Summary :
Matthew's position on the four Gospels constitutes a very developed position for the Orthodox Church, which believes that it was written by inspiration from the Holy Spirit, and their purpose for inspiration is that the true writer is the Holy Spirit, who is the true writer. writing it, and therefore they have no role in writing it at all. As for Father Matta al-Miskeen, he interprets inspiration as a person’s feeling that what he writes is true, so he assigned the writer the main role in the Gospel, and that he must have taken his news from a narrator or witnessed it with his own eyes. Therefore, he rehabilitated the bond; Where he talked about the authors of the Gospels and their sources, and about the narrations of their rejection in the Gospels, and also refused that the author of the end of the Gospel of Mark is Mark, and he also talked about the contradictions of the four Gospels, and his positions on these contradictions were varied. Sometimes he tries to push back this contradiction, and sometimes he admits that the existing contradiction has no solution. In the end, Matta al-Miskeen is considered a major shift in the Orthodox Church because he tried to apply the scientific method to the four Gospels.
