Abstract

This study deals with the most prominent features of the innovative approach that Imam al-Maturidi embraced in his interpretation of “Ahl al-Sunnah Interpretations”, the most important of which is his philosophy that he mentioned in his introduction - which did not reach us in full according to my knowledge - about the relationship between interpretation and interpretation, and it is truly the starting point towards liberation from traditional interpretation. That liberation based on respect for transmission that is compatible with reason, language, context, and others, as well as the one who had the lead in revealing a type of interpretation called “The Doctrinal Interpretation,” which was not common before, so he was brilliant in defending the beliefs of the Sunnis, adept at responding to the opponents. He collected the sayings and scrutinized them in a meticulous and sober manner, and one of the most prominent features of the al-Maturidi exegesis is that it is an interpretation of both narration and knowledge. The science that studies the interpretation of the maxim, and as for the know-how, it suffices us that it has given the mind the whole role in contemplating the Book of God.
