Abstract

Prison Punishment - Its Origin and Development in the Islamic Era - Imprisonment is one of the punishments legislated by Islam, either to deter the offender from the crime or to disciple him, or to restore people's rights. ...which are adultery, slander, drinking intoxicants, theft, robbery, prostitution, apostasy, and also premeditated murder that necessitates retribution. The research is based on explaining the virtue of Islamic law in the exclusivity of punishment and the application of prison sentences throughout the Islamic era.
