A critical approach that aims to consider the extent to which Ibn Qutayba in his introduction to “Poetry and Poets” and Al-Jahiz in the introduction to “al-Hayyal” evoke the conditions that would make the utterances appropriate and successful. In order to be able to answer the questions posed by this research, in general or in detail, as required by the place, the research concluded a number of results, most notably: Ibn Qutayba’s reliance in his introduction on: the principle of hierarchy, while Al-Jahiz started from a Hajjaj introduction based on facts of examination, It is less complex than the progressive introduction.
