Abstract

The study dealt with the temporal transformation of the present tense verb in Surat Taha, shedding light on the significance of the temporal verb in the structure, and the effect of the context/maqam in directing and defining the meaning, as there was a lot in this surah of the temporal transformation of verbs, and it played an important role in highlighting the implicit meanings and the intended connotations. It came to simulate the content and subject of the surah. The present tense verb denotes the past tense. The embodiment of the image, and clarification of the events of the Qur’anic story, even as if the listener lived its events. The present tense verb denoting a general time came in talking about the attributes of God - the Mighty and Sublime - to indicate their permanence, and their lack of specialization in one time without the other.
