Trends of objective interpretation of the Noble Qur’an and our need for it in the contemporary period

Abstract

Interest in the objective interpretation of the Noble Qur’an dates back to the sixties, since it was written by Sayyid al-Kawmi and then Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, may God have mercy on them, and the writings followed this approach during the following forty years, which expanded its issues, developed its approach, and enriched its trends. So many great researchers, scholars, preachers and professors wrote about it, such as Abd al-Sattar Fathallah Saeed, Muhammad Abdullah Draz, Muhammad al-Ghazali, Mustafa Muslim and others... Through their writings, which have been cumulative for nearly half a century, it has become possible to evaluate these efforts and see trends. The various types of struggle that fought this battle, as well as knowledge of the results and fruits that resulted from this blessed, innovative scientific process in the field of interpretation and the sciences of the Qur’an. This study aims to reveal the trends of definition and perception of objective interpretation, which ranged between combination and weighting, between the adage and the opinion, as well as the statement of its benefits, such as: its ability to refute the pilgrims and the refutation of their suspicions, the consistency of its approach with the guiding nature of the Qur’an, and its ability to build holistic perceptions and present cultural alternatives. Contributing to building knowledge, opening up to sciences, demonstrating the dominance of the Qur’an over human knowledge, revealing new aspects of the miracle of the Qur’an, and other things that are detailed in this research.
